After School Program
Are you looking for a safe, fun, supervised environment where your child can spend time after school? Have them join us at the FVMRD Afterschool Program located at Grand Park Community Recreation Center! Your child is able to grow their social skills, partake in physical activity, and receive academic support in a nurturing environment with experienced staff. A healthy snack will be provided, followed by a story/reading time, gym/outside time, homework time, and/or an organized craft or free time. Every Wednesday we go swimming from 4-5.

All forms need to be completed before enrollment can take place. Below is a list of everything we need before you start the registration process. Please contact us with any questions or concerns.

Foundations & Level 1
This class series teaches aspiring aerialists fundamental skills on a variety of aerial apparatus including fabrics/silks, lyra/hoop, and trapeze. Students will learn various picturesque poses, and breathtaking sequences, while improving balance, strength, memorization skills, and flexibility. Long pants are recommended for all aerial classes. Jewelry must be removed before using aerial silks.
Class will now be held upstairs in our group exercise #2 room! You may pick children up directly from this room at 5:00pm, or meet down in the lobby at 5:05pm.
Levels 2 & 3
All level 2 and 3 students must have preapproval prior to registration. This class is for students who have mastered all level 1 skills on silks, sling, and hoop. In this series we will learn more advanced skills that require inversions and climbing. Practice begins with a thorough warm up, followed by conditioning. New skills will be taught, and old skills reviewed and perfected on aerial fabrics, sling, hoop, and trapeze.
Class will now be held upstairs in our group fitness #2 room! You may pick children up directly from this room at 6:15pm, or meet down in the lobby at 6:20pm.
Learn the fundamentals of bowling from a certified coach! Participants can either take the bus to the Rec Center and walk to The Foundry with staff supervision or be dropped off directly at The Foundry.
Basic rock-climbing skills taught to 5-12 year olds on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We will teach correctly putting on a harness, standard figure eight knot with safety backup, belaying techniques, and moving over vertical terrain. Our emphasis will be safety, proper respect for potential dangers, and fun! Children may ride the RAM bus from FV Elementary to GPCRC.
Join us after school and enjoy some outdoor adventures! Students will learn cross country skiing techniques through a variety of games and exercises. Children will ride the school bus to the sports complex after school and pickup will also be at the sports complex at 5pm. Snack and equipment will be provided. Students MUST wear appropriate outdoor clothing including warm, water-proof coat, snow pants, hat, mittens or gloves, neck warmer and warm socks. This class is for 2nd – 5th graders.
After School Hockey Club is for kids of all abilities. If your child knows how to ice skate and wants to try hockey for the first time, then this is the program for them! If your child loves to play hockey but they are committed to other winter sports teams like skiing or gymnastics, this is an excellent program for them! Students MUST know how to ice skate before enrolling in this program. At the beginning of every class, Coach Kelton will lead the kids through some drills to improve stick handling, hockey strategy, and skating. Kids will scrimmage the last half of every class. Students should wear appropriate outdoor clothing, including a warm, waterproof coat, snow pants, winter gloves or hockey gloves, and warm socks. If kids have their own hockey helmet with a cage, they are encouraged to bring it. Coach Kelton has several hockey helmets for kids to borrow during this class.
Level 1
After School Ice Skating Club- Level 1 is for kids with little to no experience ice skating. This class will cover all the basics of ice skating. Kids will work on learning to stop (most likely with a wedge), turning, and basic body positioning for ice skating. Kids should have winter clothes to skate in- ski/snow pants, winter jacket, gloves, scarf or neck gator, and warm socks. Skate rentals are included with registration. A helmet is required- ski helmets work great and keep kids warm- a bike helmet is also acceptable. Parents should pick up at the Icebox.
Level 2

This class will play games that reinforce skills such as stopping, changing direction, and improving balance on skates. Kids will work to develop more advanced ice-skating skills such as skating backwards, hockey stopping, and improving acceleration. Kids should have winter clothes to skate in- ski/snow pants, winter jacket, gloves, scarf or neck gator, and warm socks. Skate rentals are included with registration. A helmet is required- ski helmets work great and keep kids warm- a bike helmet is also acceptable. Parents should pick up at the Icebox.

At Fraser Valley Metro Rec District, we strive to provide exceptional programs and services to our community. We understand that circumstances may arise that require participants to cancel their registration, and we have developed the following refund policy to address these situations fairly and consistently.
1. Full Refunds
- The program is canceled by FVMRD.
- The participant requests a cancellation at least 14 days prior to the start of the program.
2. Partial Refunds
- If a cancellation request is made less than 13 days before the program start date:
- A partial refund (50% of the program fee) may be issued, depending on the program’s specific policies and expenses incurred.
- This partial refund is only available if the cancellation does not significantly disrupt the program or prevent other participants from joining.
3. No Refunds
- The participant requests cancellation less than 7 days before the program start date.
- The participant is removed from the program due to violations of FVMRD policies or code of conduct.
- Refunds may not be provided for specialty camps or contracted programs.
4. Medical or Emergency Cancellations
- For cancellations due to illness, injury, or verified emergencies, a pro-rated refund may be considered based on the portion of the program missed.
- A written request and relevant documentation (such as a doctor’s note) may be required for verification.
5. Processing Fees
All refunds are subject to a 4% processing fee to cover administrative costs. This fee will be deducted from the total refund amount unless the cancellation is initiated by FVMRD.
6. Refund Method
Refunds can be processed using the original payment method or a credit may be placed on your account (credits to the account will not incur the 4% processing fee). Refunds may take up to 10 business days to appear, depending on bank processing times.

School Year Friday & Break Care
We will have fun on Fridays and during school breaks playing gym games, group games, making crafts, playing outside, and going on out of county and in county field trips. Drop-off location is the Grand Park Community Recreation Center.

All Fridays require a bag lunch (unless otherwise noted), snacks, weather-appropriate attire, sturdy shoes, & a water bottle. Please send a swimsuit and towel for ALL field trips (if transportation is not advised due to weather, we will plan to visit the rec center for swimming & gymnastics).

Mighty Mollie Ski Program
Granby Ranch and Fraser Valley Rec are proud to present our new Mighty Mollie Ski Program, a six-week adventure designed especially for young, local skiers and snowboarders ages 5–11! Whether your child is brand new to skiing or boarding, or just starting to build confidence (levels up to 2), this program is the perfect way to learn, laugh, and glide through winter. This program will have an activity for the children in the morning, with lessons from 1-3 at Granby Ranch in the afternoon. We will be back at GPCRC by 4:30 pm for pick-up.

Kidz Night Out
Let your kids have fun at the Rec while you enjoy time on the town! Open for children age 4+ (must be potty trained). Fees are per child and include pizza dinner. Please bring a swimsuit and towel as we may enjoy a swim, as well as the other activities the Rec Center has to offer. We end the evening with some quiet time with a movie in the Penguin Room!

Summer Rec Camp

Our summer camp is designed to build self-confidence and self-esteem while inspiring curiosity, creativity, and self-expression. Campers will develop new friendships, learn the value of teamwork, and gain a deeper appreciation for the outdoors and our environment through fun recreational activities and community engagement.
Pre-registration is required. Register online or at the Rec Center with dates to be announced.
There are no drop-ins. We request that everyone is registered at least 72 hours in advanced.
Once a camp is full, the rest who register will be placed on a waitlist and will be contacted if a spot opens.

Summer rec camp is open to elementary-aged kids 5 to 11 years old. They must be entering kindergarten to participate.
- Group A: ages 5-7
- Group B: ages 8-11
Location for summer of 2026 is TBD when Fraser Valley Elementary receives information regarding their playground renovations. If we cannot use the school, we will run camp out of Grand Park Community Rec Center.
All trips and schedules will be announced soon and are subject to change.

Summer Specialty Camps offer unique, week-long experiences designed to spark curiosity and creativity in youth. From art and STEM to sports and adventure, each camp is led by passionate instructors who bring their expertise to life through hands-on activities and engaging themes. These camps provide a fun, focused environment for kids to explore new interests, build skills, and make lasting memories—all while staying active and connected in the community.
Note: Transportation is not available to specialty camps.
