Fraser Valley Metro Rec District Program Refund Policy

At Fraser Valley Metro Rec District, we strive to provide exceptional programs and services to our community. We understand that circumstances may arise that require participants to cancel their registration, and we have developed the following refund policy to address these situations fairly and consistently.

1. Full Refunds

  • The program is canceled by FVMRD.
  • The participant requests a cancellation at least 14 days prior to the start of the program.

2. Partial Refunds

  • If a cancellation request is made less than 13 days before the program start date:
    • A partial refund (50% of the program fee) may be issued, depending on the program’s specific policies and expenses incurred.
    • This partial refund is only available if the cancellation does not significantly disrupt the program or prevent other participants from joining.
    • No refund will be given for specialty programs and contracted programs.

3. No Refunds

  • The participant requests cancellation less than 7 days before the program start date.
  • The participant is removed from the program due to violations of FVMRD policies or code of conduct.

4. Medical or Emergency Cancellations

  • A pro-rated refund may be issued based on the portion of the program missed.
  • A written request and relevant documentation (such as a doctor’s note) may be required for verification.

5. Processing Fees

All refunds are subject to a 4% processing fee to cover administrative costs. This fee will be deducted from the total refund amount unless the cancellation is initiated by FVMRD.

6. Refund Method

Refunds can be processed using the original payment method or a credit may be placed on your account (credits to the account will not incur the 4% processing fee). Refunds may take up to 10 business days to appear, depending on bank processing times.

We appreciate your understanding of our refund policy and are committed to working with you to ensure a positive experience with our programs. If you have any questions regarding your specific situation, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for being part of the Fraser Valley Metro Rec District community!

Camps and Afterschool

Our camps and afterschool programs provide a safe, engaging environment where children can learn, explore, and build friendships throughout the year. Year-round field trips add excitement and hands-on learning beyond the classroom, while specialty summer camps focus on themed experiences that spark creativity, curiosity, and active play. During the school year, regular afterschool care supports families with structured activities, homework time, and opportunities for social development. These programs offer enriching experiences that keep children active, supported, and inspired outside of school hours.

Lifeguard training focuses on water safety, rescue skills, and professional responsibility. While CPR, AED, and First Aid courses teach critical lifesaving skills for home, work, and community settings. These classes empower individuals with practical knowledge that can make a meaningful difference when it matters most.

Organized field trips provide opportunities to experience new places and activities beyond the Fraser valley, while dedicated teen nights out at the rec center create a space just for them to relax, play games, and take part in structured and unstructured activities. These programs encourage independence, build friendships, and give teens a positive place to spend their free time.
